What better way to kick off the new year than with the latest interior trends. You may be thinking new year, new home, or simply looking for interior inspiration for updating your décor.

To help, here are some of the latest interior trends along with home design tips for 2024 to inspire you.

Use Pantone’s Colour of the Year 2024

Of course we have to start with Pantone’s Colour of the Year 2024: ‘Peach Fuzz’, described as ‘a colour which captures our desire to nurture ourselves and others. It’s a velvety gentle peach tone whose all-embracing spirit enriches mind, body and soul’ according to Pantone. If you are looking to add pops of peach to your home for 2024, why not use tones in your accessories like cushions in your living room or bedroom.

Organising your home

Step into the new year with purpose and embrace organisation in the home in 2024. Pantries in the kitchen are seeing a resurgence, and so is having them neatly organised thanks to the likes of Khloe Kardashian and her seamlessly organised Oreo cookie jars. Being organised isn’t about boring cabinets anymore, it’s all about using stylish armoires and shelving with colourful baskets to add a little something extra to your space. Our duplex showhome at Prince’s Quay, Glasgow perfectly showcases how to keep your panty organised but oh so stylish. Take a look at how we've styled our pantry on Instagram here

Cosy textiles in your home

Looking to bring some warmth into your home? Then why not add cosy textiles to your décor. Accessorising is always a firm favourite interior trend and means that rooms can be easily updated without having to redecorate. Something as simple as adding a faux fur throw or velvet pillows in jewelled tones will bring some warmth. The Barrie showhome at West Craigs in Edinburgh has been perfectly dressed to showcase this trend.

Embracing the Bloomcore trend

Did we ever think that bloomcore would be an interiors statement in the home? No. Are we glad it’s become one? Yes. We’re not talking about plastering your whole home with flower patterns, however, having a wall of floral wallpaper can add that pop of something special to a room. Your WC is a great room to take the plunge and be bold with your design choices.

Welcoming back the 1970’s revival

70s interiors trends are still going strong. A mid-century modern aesthetic look is key to nailing this trend in your home, and our Hiswick showhome at Bucklers Park, Crowthorne showcases this superbly. Think deep browns, yellows and oranges along with a hint of black and a splurge of gold. You can achieve this by doing something as simple as adding picture frames or upgrading your coffee table.

Barbiecore interiors, but muted

We all know that Barbiecore took the world by storm in 2023, but this trend isn’t going anywhere this year. We’re looking at using pink in a slightly different, more subtle way. Adding pops of pink interiors here and there throughout your home is a great way to showcase the colour without it being overwhelming.

Grey interiors are here to stay

You can never go wrong with grey interiors, and this year is no different. Use all the varying shades of grey from smoky charcoal to slate hues on the walls to create a canvas for hanging black and white art pieces, or by mixing light and dark grey furniture you can add in pops of colour if you feel the need. Our Dulwich showhome at Langley Court, Beckenham will give you some great inspo on how to add grey into your living space effortlessly.

Pops of colour to brighten your spaces

We all know adding pops of colour in the home is the best way to add a little something extra without going all out and spending too much. This is certainly still true when it comes to interior trends for 2024. However, this year, it’s not about being subtle, jewel tones are the way forward. Having a neutral palette and adding pops of bold purples in the form of accent chairs in the living room or statement headboards in the bedroom are perfect ways to embrace this trend. Our Lowther showhome at our Craibstone development is the ideal place to see this in action.

Fireplace trends

The fireplace is set to be the focal point of the interiors trends we are seeing for 2024. Whether it is a log burning fire, an electric flame effect one, or a faux fireplace, they aren’t just there to keep you warm, and can really be a talking point. Our new penthouse apartment at 22 King's Gate in Aberdeen Garvie showhome perfectly showcases how a sleek fireplace can make a room cosy but modern.
